about

James Hardy, MPH, is a spiritual seeker and current seminarian at Starr King School for the Ministry. A son of the Rust Belt, he resides in Akron, Ohio, with his wife, two children, brother-in-law, niece, and three dogs. He describes his spirituality as “Christian+,” following the Gospel(s) of Jesus of Nazareth while embracing and respecting all traditions as legitimate and insightful pathways to the Divine Mystery. Barefoot Benedictions is James’ humble attempt at journaling his way through spiritual formation, ministry, God, the Gospels, religion, and what they all mean for Americans in the 21st Century. When he’s not a husband, father, sibling, friend, and seminarian, James is a Senior Program Officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
